Ram Navami is a significant festival celebrated by the followers of Lord Rama at ISKCON temples around the world. This year on 2nd April, I was fortunate enough to attend Ram Namvai festival at ISKCON Jarna. The festivities typically begin with a special morning program where devotees offer prayers, flowers, and food to the deity of Lord Rama. This is followed by a grand procession of the deities decorated in magnificent attire.
The Ram Navami event at ISKCON also includes devotional singing, dance performances, and enlightening discourses about the life and teachings of Lord Rama. The devotees fast on this day and offer a special bhoga (meal) to the Lord in the afternoon after the ceremonial rituals.
The atmosphere is filled with joy and devotion as people come together to celebrate the birth of Lord Rama, who is revered for his divine qualities such as courage, righteousness and compassion. The event concludes with arti and prasad distribution, with devotees wishing each other a happy and blessed Ram Navami.
